Description
These fixed strut kits are designed for attachment to either
the vertical back member or rim of a grid antenna for greater
rigidity of the installation. The kit includes the strut, strut
mounting bracket, U-bracket, strut clamp assembly, and hardware.
Kit 201632 has a two-piece strut that is joined by a threaded
coupler and is used for six-foot (1.8 m) and eight-foot (2.4 m)
antennas. Kit 201632-2 has a one-piece strut and is used for
ten-foot (3 m) antennas.
Notice
The installation, maintenance, or removal of antenna systems
requires qualified, experienced personnel. Andrew installation
instructions have been written for such personnel. Antenna
systems should be inspected once a year by qualified personnel
to verify proper installation, maintenance, and condition of
equipment.
Andrew disclaims any liability or responsibility for the results
of improper or unsafe installation practices.
Read The Instructions Thoroughly
Before Installation
1. Select Most Preferred Location for Strut
There are three locations on the reflector that can be used for
attaching the strut. They are given in the following order of
preference and illustrated in Figure 1:
Six-foot antenna:
(1) Near the top of the vertical back member.
(2) On the rim farthest from the antenna
mounting pipe and approximately 45° above
the horizontal back member.
(3) On the rim nearest to the antenna
mounting pipe and apprxoimately 45° above
the horizontal back member.
|
Eight- or ten-foot antenna:
(1) Near the top of the vertical back member.
(2) On the rim on the side opposite from the
azimuth (adjustable) strut and approximately
45° above the horizontal back member.
(3) On the rim on the same side as the
azimuth (adjustable) strut and apprxoimately
45° above the horizontal back member.
