Installation Instructions Type 2090909/-2, 4.5-Meter Reflector/Back Structure with Pedestal Ground Mount Assembly |
Bulletin 237105A Revision B |
1.0 Introduction 1.1 Type 2090909/-2 Reflector/Back Structure Assembly includes a six-piece reflector assembly, 205583 long struts, 205584 short struts, 205585A diagonal struts, a 205658-2 formed ring weldment, a 209203 hardware kit and a 49612 setting band assembly. 1.2 The main reflector is segmented in a six-piece configu- ration to reduce shipping volume and facilitate transport to remote sites or rooftops. 1.3 The reflector/back structure is a symmetrical space- frame design consisting of both aluminum and galvanized steel members bolted together with A-325 friction-type hardware. This construction eliminates slippage under load conditions and the need for future retightening. Thoroughly Before Assembly 2.0 Reflector Assembly 2.1 Carefully remove reflector segments from packing crate. Note: All reflector segments are match-marked on at least 10 inches (254 mm) and saw off a short section |
outer reflector rim according to corresponding sections and relative position. 2.2 Refer to Figure 1. Reflector/back structure assembly should be performed in level area in front of foundation pad, with bottom of reflector approximately 3 feet (1 m) from pad. Arrange 6 temporary supports spaces 60° apart on a 15 foot (4.5 m) diameter circle for reflector assembly. Supports should be stable and a minimum of 12 inches (305 mm) high. Note: It is extremely important that sup- ports be leveled using carpenter's level and straightedge to ensure undistorted reflector assembly. 2.3 Remove tape and loosen hardware on 49612 diameter setting band assembly to enable slight setting band move- ment. Arrange setting band assembly as shown in Figure 1. Note: Ensure adjoining bands are positioned 180° apart to ensure even loading on diameter setting band hardware. means of mechanical force to enable hardware attachment during any portion of assembly procedure. |
