1/4-20 by 5/8 in (16 mm) bolts, lockwashers and flatwashers with full and half thickness flange gaskets. NOTE: Flatwashers are not required if thickness of LNA mounting flange is 5/16 in (8 mm) or greater. Thinner LNA flanges will require flatwashers due to four shallow holes on feed horn flange. Full thickness flange gaskets are utilized in conjunction with corresponding grooved LNA flanges while half thickness gaskets are used with flat LNA flanges or a flat plate. 3.8 Attach corresponding cables, power supply leads, etc. to LNA's. Connect LNA output to spectrum analyzer. 3.9 Fine adjust elevation and azimuth strut lengths to achieve maximum signal strength from desired satellite. 4.0 Polarization Adjustment 4.1 Loosen both 1/4-20 by 3/4 in (19 mm) bolts in feed support until feed horn assembly is free to rotate and adjust feed horn for maximum signal strength on desired polarization. NOTE: Do not loosen collar hardware. Collar will maintain appropriate feed window to vertex plate dimension during polarization adjustment. 4.2 Rotate feed horn assembly in one direction until signal level drops 1 dB. Mark this position. Rotate feed horn in opposite direction through maximum signal until signal level again drops 1 dB. Mark this position. 4.3 Adjust feed horn assembly to midpoint of 1 dB marks and securely tighten 1/4-20 by 3/4 in (19 mm) bolts in feed support making sure feed support is firmly seated against 49683 collar. |
