Installation Instructions Type 520570 Strut Kits for 1.2 m (4 ft) through 3.7 m (12 ft) Parabolic Antennas |
Bulletin 237415 |
The information given in this bulletin describes the kit installation details for three types of struts: the azimuth adjustment strut, fixed strut, and bottom strut. The azimuth adjustment strut provides antenna rigidity and includes a threaded rod assembly for fine adjustment of zimuth. The fixed strut is attached to the side of the antenna to provide greater rigidity in high winds. The bottom strut provides additional support in environments of heavy snow and ice. All three struts have a strut clamp assembly that can be clamped anywhere along the strut for attachment to a tower member. The bottom strut includes an angle member and U-bolt that attaches to the antenna mounting pipe on the tower and provides for attachment of the strut clamp assembly.
The installation, maintenance or removal of antenna systems requires qualified, experienced personnel. Andrew installation instructions have been written for such installation personnel. Antenna systems should be inspected once a year by qualified personnel to verify proper installation, maintenance and condition of equipment. Andrew disclaims any liability for the results of improper or unsafe installation practices. |
Standard hand tools can be used for this installation. A ratchet and deep well wrench sockets are recommended. However, combination wrenches, box or open-end type, may be used. Wrench sizes for the furnished bolt hardware are as follows:
