On behalf of the Research, Development and Evaluation Commission, I am
pleased to invite you to participate in the APEC Telecenter Training
Camp, which will be held from January 24 to 29, 2005, in Taipei.
The Training Camp aims to raise awareness of the
digital divide that exists within APEC, as well as to provide
participants with practical knowledge and skills related to digital
divide policy planning and implementation. The digital divide issue has
been raised in a variety of APEC meetings and conferences. This event is
one action of the APEC Telecenter Development Program under the APEC
Digital Opportunity Center, which has been proposed by my government in
support of APEC Economic Leaders’ decisions on bridging digital divide.
I truly believe that your participation will help make the Camp a great
success.
We are most delighted to welcome all of you in

of our people and the distinctive Taiwanese culture, whether you are
